Play music and dance together! Sing “movement songs” like The Hokey Pokey and help your child do the motions.

Children learn through their play! Play develops cognitive (thinking), gross and fine motor (physical), and social skills.

Go for a walk around the neighborhood and talk about different things you see. How many red/blue/yellow/green objects can you find? Count how many steps it takes from the front door to the sidewalk.

Explore your creative side with play-doh and cookie cutters.

Make a puppet and tell a story.

Put magnetic letters on the refrigerator or on a cookie sheet. Help your child identify the letters and their sounds. Try it with magnetic numbers, too.

Read The Story of My Feelings by Laurie Berkner and talk about what makes your child feel happy, sad, angry, etc.
